If you apply for solar financing, we may collect your BVN and your guarantor’s BVN solely for creditworthiness assessment, and your NIN for identification purposes.

4.6 Mobile Application Information

Geo-Location Information: We may request access to location data to provide location-based services. You may change permissions in your device settings. Mobile Device Access: Access may be requested for Bluetooth, calendar, camera, contacts, microphone, SMS, storage, sensors, and social media accounts. Mobile Device Data: We may collect device ID, model, manufacturer, operating system, version, and IP address. Push Notifications: You may opt out via your device settings.

Installation Terms of Service

  • For sites that require scaffolding for panel installation on roofs, the customer shall bear the cost of scaffold rental.
  • For installations requiring enclosures for inverters and batteries (including installation accessories), the customer shall bear the cost of such enclosures.
  • Standard installation timelines are 3–5 working days. Larger installations of 10KVA and above may take 7–10 working days.
  • The customer shall bear the cost of additional installation accessories where requirements exceed the initially estimated accessories.
  • Troosolar or its affiliates shall not be responsible for any pre-existing electrical issues beyond the scope of our installations.

Warranty Policy

OEMs Partnership Warranty Policy

  • Solar Inverters: 2-year warranty covering manufacturing defects.
  • Lithium Batteries: 5-year warranty covering manufacturing defects.
  • Solar Panels: 12-year warranty covering manufacturing defects.
  • Charge Controllers: 1-year warranty covering manufacturing defects.
  • Solar Street Lights: 5-year warranty covering manufacturing defects.
  • All-in-One Solar Systems: 5-year warranty covering manufacturing defects.

Installation Warranty

  • Post-Installation Maintenance: 1-year warranty support after installation.
  • For any installation-related issues such as defects, malfunctions, or required repairs, Troosolar’s technical team will respond within 72 hours of notification.

Terms and Conditions

  1. The warranty applies only to solar products and installations carried out by Troosolar and its authorised installers.
  2. All warranty claims are subject to inspection and verification by Troosolar’s technical team.
  3. Any unauthorised tampering immediately voids the warranty.
  4. The warranty covers replacement of defective components only and does not extend to replacement of the entire system.
  5. If the customer elects to transport the system or components to a service centre, all logistics costs shall be borne by the customer.
  6. All Troosolar installations come with a one (1) year installation warranty. During this period, issues directly related to installation will be resolved at no cost, provided such issues were not caused by customer action or omission.
  7. In the event of disconnection from Troosolar’s meter, an inspection shall be conducted within twenty-four (24) hours. The customer shall bear the inspection and reconnection costs where disconnection results from:
    • Late or overdue payments
    • Tampering, interference, or unauthorised disconnection of Troosolar equipment
    • Bypassing or attempting to bypass the meter or payment system
    • Unauthorised access to installations, panels, batteries, or wiring
    • Physical damage caused by the customer, occupants, tenants, or agents
    • Refusal or obstruction of Troosolar personnel during maintenance or inspection
    • Use of the system beyond the agreed capacity or inconsistent with terms of use
    If disconnection is due to a system defect attributable to Troosolar, no inspection fee shall be charged.
  8. Inverter warranty is limited to repairs or replacement of service parts deemed necessary after inspection.
  9. If a customer requests outright inverter replacement during the warranty period and the fault is not a factory defect, the customer shall bear inflation, installation, and related costs.
  10. Panel warranty does not cover defects caused by misuse, customer error, or relocation without professional assistance.
  11. Panel warranty does not cover damage caused by force majeure events including, but not limited to, floods, heavy rainfall, lightning, earthquakes, fire outbreaks, explosions, civil unrest, or acts of war.
  12. Warranty does not cover defects arising from usage.
  13. Customers are advised to inspect installations immediately upon completion and report issues within the first week.
  14. Failure to report issues within one (1) week releases Troosolar from liability for roof damage.
  15. No customer error is covered under warranty. Determination of customer error shall be at Troosolar’s discretion.
  16. Provision of stop-gap products is at Troosolar’s discretion.
  17. Warranty does not cover products not installed by Troosolar’s professional team.
  18. Battery warranty excludes defects caused by overcharging, undercharging, or external factors. Bulging or swelling constitutes overcharging.
  19. Battery warranty is void if:
    • The battery has been tampered with
    • Exposure to earthing leakages occurs
    • The battery is physically damaged
    • External technicians are engaged post-installation
    • Additional load is added beyond installed capacity
    • Battery terminals are tampered with
    • Power surges or instability occur
    • Vent plugs are blocked
    • The battery is misused or negligently handled
    • The battery is exposed to fire, floods, lightning, or extreme weather
    • Batteries are not installed on racks or pallets
    • Improper installation occurs outside Troosolar staff
    • Batteries are overloaded
    • The battery does not receive 6–8 hours of daily charge in the absence of solar panels
    • Required replacement documentation is not provided

Please Note the Following

  1. Heat-generating appliances such as pressing irons, electric cookers, kettles, and water heaters are not recommended for systems below 3KVA.
  2. Logistics costs for installations outside our city of operation shall be borne by the customer. Installation and logistics fees are non-refundable.
  3. Customers bear full responsibility for losses incurred after engaging external technicians.
  4. Refund and return provisions apply where necessary.
  5. Prices may be adjusted to reflect prevailing economic conditions.
  6. Troosolar reserves the right to amend warranty terms without prior notice. Updates will be published on www.troosolar.com.

1. Introduction

Please read these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”), which set forth the legally binding terms between you (hereinafter referred to as “you”, “your”, or “the Company”) and Troosolar (hereinafter referred to as “Troosolar”, “3Gates Energy Ltd”, “We”, “Us”, or “Our”), a limited liability company registered under the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria with RC number 1971724 and having its principal place of business at First Floor (Left Wing), 16 Amodu Ojikutu Street, off Bishop Oluwole Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria. Our website is not directed at you if we are prohibited by law from making the information available to you. By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part, you may not access our services. Your access to our services is conditioned on acceptance and compliance with these Terms, which apply to all consumers who access or use our services.

2. Effect of These Terms and Conditions

By accepting or continuing to use the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms in addition to:
  • Our Website Terms and Conditions
  • Our Privacy and Cookies Policy
  • Any financing or service agreement entered into in connection with these Terms

2.2

Unless the context requires otherwise:
  • Words in singular include plural and vice versa
  • Any gender includes all genders
  • References to “You” include permitted successors and assigns

2.3 Definitions

  • Loan: A financing facility for clean energy services offered by Troosolar.
  • Loan Application: A request submitted via the Platform to obtain financing.
  • Platform: Troosolar websites, mobile apps, digital wallets, and related systems.
  • Personal Information: Data provided by you in relation to services.
  • Guarantor: An individual nominated to provide personal security for a loan.
  • Services: Internet-based and digital services offered by Troosolar.
  • T&C: These Terms and Conditions.
  • User: Any individual or organisation accessing Troosolar services.
  • User Profile: Your individual or business profile on the Platform.
  • KYC: Identity verification processes carried out by Troosolar.

2.4

We may revise these Terms to comply with law or business needs.

2.5

Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of revised Terms.

3. Requesting a Loan

3.1

You may apply for solar financing by submitting an application through the Platform.

3.2

By using our services, you confirm that:
  • You are over 18 years of age
  • You have legal capacity to enter a binding agreement
  • You will provide accurate information
  • You have a guarantor and will submit their details
  • You will provide undated cheques on or before installation
  • You will not create multiple or fraudulent accounts
  • You are not breaching applicable laws
  • You authorise identity verification and credit assessment
  • False information may result in termination and reporting to authorities
  • You authorise investigations to prevent fraud
  • You will pay a non-refundable credit check fee
  • Loan application does not guarantee approval

4. Interest

4.1

Each approved loan will have specific repayment and interest terms.

4.2

Early repayment may attract prorated interest excluding administrative charges.

4.3

Interest continues to accrue after tenure expiry.

5. Missed Payments / Default by Borrower

5.1

Failure to repay on time triggers recovery procedures and cost recovery.

5.2

Repayments are collected via Direct Debit, Cards, or Virtual Accounts.

5.3

We may engage debt recovery agents where repayment attempts fail.

5.4

Continued default may result in system or product suspension.

5.5

We may notify and involve the Guarantor.

5.6

Outstanding amounts may be recovered from the Guarantor or via repayment plans.

5.7

Defaults exceeding 14 days may be reported to credit bureaus, including director/shareholder details where applicable.

5.8

Defaults exceeding 30 days may result in BVN-linked account debits.

5.9

You consent to such disclosures and indemnify Troosolar.

5.10

Solar products remain Troosolar property until full repayment.

5.11

We may disable system usage after continued repayment failure.

6. Limitation of Liability

Troosolar shall not be liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from platform use, interruptions, third-party actions, or force majeure events.

7. Prohibited Uses

7.1

You must not:
  • Damage or overload the Platform
  • Engage in unlawful activity
  • Impersonate others
  • Access accounts without permission
  • Use the Platform commercially without consent

7.2

Violations may result in civil or criminal action.

8. Communication

8.1

9. Intellectual Property Rights

9.1

All intellectual property belongs to 3Gates Energy Ltd.

10. Security

You are responsible for account security.

Do not bypass security measures.

Suspicious instructions may be declined.

11. Third-Party Service Providers

Engagements with third parties are at your own risk.

14. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

14.1

These Terms are governed by Nigerian law.

14.2

Disputes shall be resolved by arbitration in Lagos, with Troosolar reserving court action rights.

Invalid provisions do not affect the remainder.
